The Canine Academy specializes in training Golden Retrievers.

We train on a Wednesday afternoon/evening at Hooley just south of Coulsdon on A23. Class fees are currently £50 for 10 consecutive lessons.

4.15pm -5.05pm: For beginners and puppies to learn the basics in training, handling & socialisation and complete the KC Puppy Foundation Test and progress to the Bronze Test. They then socialise with the bigger dogs in the next class

5.05pm -5.50pm: For older puppies to complete the KC Silver Good Citizen Award and the Canine Academy Intermediate Award.

5.50pm –6.45pm:  We run a series of courses which work towards the KC Gold Good Citizens Award, including our new Canine Academy Emerald &  Ruby Award.

6.46pm – 7.30pm: Our Good Citizen Gold Test class. Working on more complicated aspects of competitive competition work.

7.30pm – 8.15pm: Here we are working toward the more advanced Platinum and Diamond Canine Academy Awards. These combine the competitive obedience work with a mix of Gundog work and Fun Exercises.

8.15pm – 9.45pm: Our top group is either finishing their Canine Academy Diamond Award or studying towards or new Canine Academy Crystal Award.

At the end of each Good Citizen Course there is a test and those who pass receive a Certificate and Rosette! For our top Awards – Platinum, Diamond and Crystal, we also present trophies and engraved Glass.

Sessions are designed to promote responsible pet ownership and develop a rewarding partnership between dog & owner through motivational, fun training.

There is always time for Tea, Coffee and Biscuits and a chance to discuss any problems that you may be having.
